Courage is, when you overcome your fear. No fear: just foolhardy or unconcerned. We all have fear, but courage, which you showed, is pretty rare. I celebrate you for that. You got involved with something that forced you to leave your comfort zone, to make somebody you love having a good time. As far as you could go. Want to call that "letting somebody down"? I do not! In the same timeline, landscape photography is exactly the same. The tube may pay you but they're out to make money - just like a factory job. There is always be something that is considered 'niche' and they are many of them.

My Brother-in-law wanted me to take him to one of those Zip line rides. He is 84 and in poor health. I told him no, what would happen if he had a heart attack half way down it? How was I supposed to explain that to his two daughters? He said, "We won't tell them." Ok, I just stuff your body in the boot of the car, until we get home? Apparently, this sounded like a good plan to him. 😂

I've had moments like that before Paul. I'm petrified of rides. The first time I went to Alton Towers I went on Hex because I was told it was just a little rocking sensation, I ended up gripping the bars really tight and I was told by a friend they could see how scared I was. Unfortunately my partner at the time who loved rides thought I was being a baby and told me to man up. I also agree that the grounds of Alton Towers is a beautiful place, especially the gardens.

I love Alton towers, But the older I get they make me feel queasy. Especially the enterprise spiny round thing. Felt a bit green 🤮 after that one lol 😂

Not sure about no cameras they should probably stop people having lose items lol had to wait a while to get on one ride when someone lost their phone. Paying for parking on top of entry is my pet peeve on top of pricey food and queues. Good day out though if you can go when kids aren’t off.

Loved it Paul to go on the first ride was an achievement. I recently started to be clostraphobic at 57 years old. And bugger me mate the panic I get now just getting in a tight sleeping bag spins my nut and I have no idea why so fully understand why you could not do the 13 ride. So you did an amazing job and the support you have with Jo well what's not to love. Great video as always

Nope. No way. No rides for me. Those places are very cool and I love the atmosphere. I don't do rides but the others are welcome to go. I have a great time without ever going on a ride. The sights, sounds, smells of the food though, all good Summer fun.

My wife and I have season passes to Dollywood in Tennessee USA. It has become a real draw for rollercoaster fanatics. There are very few of the rollercoasters that I will ride. Last week we did Big Bear Mountain coaster with another couple. It was all I could stand. The woman of the couple had a real problem. We had to practically carry her off the ride. Needless to say, no more coasters for her. When I was young I loved all rollercoasters. Now in my 50s, not so much. We still love visiting the park. The flowers are always amazing and there are lots of things to see and do.

Jo is an absolute star! You do not owe anyone anything Paul, absolutely no failure whatsoever in fact you have done everyone a huge favour by pointing out what an absolute rip-off these theme parks actually are. Don't get me wrong, I love theme park rides and if I had the money I would have a private one or two. BUT the fact that they allow so many people to enter each day knowing that they are only going to get to go on one or two rides because of the massive queues is nothing short of criminal. As are the food and drink costs and quality.

Paul seriously don't worry about it. I used to be alike monkey when I was a kid. Jumping out of trees leaping onto roofs and from roofs into trees! Then one day while doing plumbing work in my mid 20s I fell off of a roof from three stories up. Luckily it was at the seaside and I landed in beach sand and I tucked and rolled and didn't get hurt. But from that day forward I have been unable to climb up off of a ladder onto a roof no matter how high or low it might be. I was fixing up the solarium a few years ago and the last bit to do was patch a bit of the plywood and shingles on the rood. The lower end of the roof was at my eyes so liter ally just 5 feet up and I would climb the step ladder and as soon as my foot stepped off of the ladder on to the roof my legs would physically buckle. I realize it is in my mind but it manifests itself in my legs giving out. There is nothing to explain it and it was embarrassing having to hire in a man to fit the plywood and shingles but there was no other way. I just could not step onto that roof. I obviously got over it and no one said anything about it and the young kid i hired to do the roofing was glad for the money so it all worked out. You climb bloody mountains none of us care if you don't/can't do amusement rides! And obviously Jo doesn't care either! 👍
